Running Program Information

Join our Running Program which is similar to C25K (Couch to 5K) but includes Boys, Girls, Teenagers, College Students, Adults, Parents, and just about anyone interested in preparing for and running a 5K Race. Coaches will be teaching proper running technique, discussing good eating and stretching habits, and also integrating basic running concepts with life principles and Biblical truths.

Participants train together for approximately 9-10 weeks and then run in a local 5K Race chosen by Coach Jason.

*Registration fee includes Legacy running shirt, medal, and covers the race entry fee. In addition, most races also provide each participant with a race shirt, medal, and free snacks/drinks during the race.


Do I have to attend all of the training sessions in order to participate?
No. Most participants come to one weekend group training session (Saturday morning), one weeknight group training session (Monday or Thursday at 6:00pm), and then train one additional weeknight on their own for a total of 3 training sessions per week. The coaches will provide the weekly training routine to be used when training on your own.

Do many parents/adults actually sign up?
Yes. We usually have a ratio of about 1 adult for every 3 children/youth running. We often have several adults train with us on their own (no children involved).
